You're Hired!!

Two weeks ago (after a lot of discussion, I might add) we hired a housekeeper. I know, I know, some of you are having negative thoughts right now. Perhaps, it's because you think we are foolish with our money or perhaps it's because you wish you had one. I don't know. But, let me tell you this has been a great gift to our family. I started working full-time this year, for the first time in 9 1/2 years. It has been a huge transition for all of us. The first 2 months of school, we spent every weekend trying to dig out from under the piles. The piles of laundry...mail...school papers...laundry...library books...you get the point! Once we could finally see the floor and furniture, there was no energy left to clean. So, now every other Wednesday we come home to a sparkling clean house. Ethan insists that his room has never been cleaner and Alli is certain that she has never been the FIRST one to make "footprints" on her carpet floor. Yes, our housekeeper even vacuums her way out the door so there are no footprints, just beautiful vacuum lines. For those of you who know me well, this greatly appeals to my neat freak side! I love it! But the best part is all the time we have gained. Yes, we still have piles of laundry. But this past weekend, we spent Friday night in Wichita. Bethany, Avery & I enjoyed a performance of "Cinderella" at The Wichita Children's Theater for my niece, Cameron's birthday. We got home close to midnight after spending the rest of the evening in front of Brian and Lisa's wood burning stove. We greatly enjoyed our time with them. Then on Saturday, Randy helped Karen, James and Daniel build a wheelchair ramp for his dad at his mom's new place. I helped by bringing lunch and moving a few tubs out there with Rhonda. And the best part of all....not one time did I worry about when I was going to clean my house.

I can't wait to come home from work tomorrow! Vacuum lines here we come!

That is way too funny! Last night at BSF we were talking about the Ten commandments and we talked about the 10th, which is not to covet your neighbors manservant or maidservant and I laughed saying that if I knew someone who had one that I would have to covet them!God is always testing, huh!
I told Dusty , I was glad that I had him for my manservant, he just smiled!

We are home now from Arkansas. It was a fun trip and nice to get away. Dusty's mom and I had fun shopping on Black Friday. Hope your Thanksgiving was good and that you got all the pie you wanted.
